Copyright at the University Library: Course Pages

What are Course Pages?

Course pages are essentially web pages created in the Library to support a specific course (they are similar to PAWS course pages in this regard).  The content of a course page can vary but can include such elements as:

  • peristent links to library licensed resources (ex: linked readings lists / bibliographies)
  • contact information to the appropriate liaison librarian
  • research guides / research assistance specific to course content
  • links to course-specific resources such as journal article databases

When posting copyrighted materials, such as journal articles, on PAWS or Blackboard it is recommended that you provide LINKS to licensed library resources.  This can be done via PAWS course pages, Blackboard or the Library's own course pages.  For more information about creating direct links, please consult the Direct /Persistent Linking to e-resources tab or contact the liaison librarian assigned to your college/division/school.
