All Casual Library Assistant 1s receive mandatory safety training before they begin working at the library.
Each building has its own local Emergency Response Plan. Check with your supervisor to find out where your Emergency Response Plan is located.
Each check-out desk computer has an abridged version of the Emergency Procedures available for you to read. The icon is located on the desktop of all check-out desk computers and looks like this:
It's a good idea to add Protective Services as a contact in your cell phone. That way, you can quickly get a hold of them when you need them. Their phone number is 306-966-5555.

Section 96(1) of the Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations states that "an employer or contractor shall ensure that a worker uses footwear that is appropriate to the risks associated with the worker’s place of employment and occupation". Closed-toed shoes must be worn while shelving.
