Mobile Apps for Health Sciences: DynaMed

A point of care tool. "Content is written by a world-class team of physicians and researchers who synthesize the evidence and provide objective analysis".

Installation Instructions

Download the DynaMed app from the App Store or Google Play store.

Go to the desktop version of DynaMed and click on the head and shoulders icon at the upper right corner of the page. A window will open.  Make sure that you do not have pop-up blocking turned on in your browser, or you will not see this window.

If you already have a personal account, click Sign In from the window that pops up.

If you do not have a personal account, click Create Account from the window that pops up, and set up your account.

From the app, choose "Sign In," rather than "Institutional Network," and sign in using your DynaMed user name and password.   Once you've logged in, you can choose one of three installation options:

  • Online Only: Use the app only while connected to the internet.

  • Partial Install: Store text and image thumbnails on your device. Full images are available when you are connected to the internet. This option helps you save space on your device.

  • Full Install: Store all DynaMed content on your device. You do not need to be connected to the internet to access content on the app.

Note: It is recommended that you are on a Wi-Fi connection for the initial download of DynaMed content as well as when updates become available.

Once you've logged in, the app is authenticated for 3 months.  Once the 3 months are up, you'll need to re-authenticate by signing into the desktop version of DynaMed using your username and password, and then signing into the app again.
