Finding Standards

Engineering Workbench
Provides online access to 19 CSA and NRC standards including Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada, and National Fire Code of Canada.

The Purchase-on-Demand function allows you to suggest new standards that the Library should purchase.
Step 1: Log into Engineering Workbench with your NSID and password. To find standards we do not currently subscribe to, deselect "My subscriptions" on the left panel of the screen. Once you've found the standard you would like to request, click "Request access" on the top of the screen.
Step 2: Send an email to confirm if a single-user PDF (for solo researchers) or a subscription (for multiple readers, including labs or design teams) is required. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, please be sure to also have your faculty supervisor send an email confirming you require the standard for your research.
