The Extraction Process

Once you have created, piloted, and revised your data extraction form, it is time to extract the relevant data.

When conducting data extraction consider the following:

Missing Data

Articles may be missing data that are pertinent to your review. In that case, you can reach out to the article's contact author and inquire about receiving that information (e.g., standard deviations, standard errors, t-values, etc.).

In your article, you should explicitly report on your approach used to cope with missing data, and address the potential impact of missing data in your conclusions. ​
