- African Canadian Black History Month at the MacKenzie Art GalleryThe Mackenzie Art Gallery is celebrating African Canadian Black History Month. On Thursday, February 1st, 2024, the Shumiatcher Theatre will be hosting an event featuring community representatives and a screening of The Road Taken.
- Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan EventsCheck out the virtual or physical events listed on the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan website.
- Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage MuseumCheck out an exhibit at the Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum's virtual museum. Through research, collecting and documenting, the contribution of African and African descent persons in Saskatchewan over the last 100 plus years is now available.
- Visit USask's New Spotlight WebsiteThe 2024 theme for Black History Month at USask is "Celebrating Black Experiences: Arts, Literature and More." Together, we will engage our collective power to shape the future by exploring and celebrating the unique contributions of the Black community across all disciplines. Find a wide variety of Black History Month events hosted by the University of Saskatchewan.
- One Small Step SaskatoonWhether you have time, money or something else to give, One Small Step allows people to find the non-profits in Saskatoon and their real time needs.
- The Honouring TreeThe Honouring Tree is a community art installation initiated by the Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum. You can visit the Honouring Tree at the Wascana Centre in Regina.
- Attend the Black History Month Music Show SaskatoonOn February 17th, 2024 at 7:00pm, attend the Black History Month Music Show Saskatoon at Persephone Theatre! Hosted by Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan, this music show will feature the beats and rhythms that have shaped Black culture and history.

Cultural Wellness Club Film Screenings
The Cultural Wellness Club presents Scene Society. On February 2nd, 2024 and February 27th, the Cultural Wellness Club will be screening Rafiki, the first Kenyan film to be screened at a festival. It was nominated for two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival.
Join the Provost's book club!
Join the Provost's book club, featuring The Black Prairie Archives: An Anthology, on Wednesdays from 12:00pm to 1:00pm during February, 2024.
Book club members can join the gatherings in person or online via Zoom. Registration is not required in advance. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and retirees are welcome to attend one, two, or all three weekly sessions. Please note that there will be no book club gathering during USask’s Winter Mid-Term Break, which is scheduled from Feb. 19 to Feb. 23, 2024.
USask Culinary Services celebrates Black History Month!
Grab a bite to eat at the Marquis Culinary Centre! Each event will feature a unique menu highlighting the rich cultural heritage and delicious cuisine of the African diaspora.
