Generative AI and Learning

This self-paced series of learning modules is designed to help you build AI literacy.

Learning Goal

Interacting with GenAI

This module asks: What is a prompt, and how does the way you prompt shape the response you get. Is the answer always worth trusting?

An AI prompt is an instruction (input) that tells an AI tool how to generate a response (output). The quality and clarity of a prompt significantly influence the relevance and accuracy of the AI's response. Thus, the skill of crafting a good prompt or refining a vague one is referred to as prompt engineering.

Learning Goal

By the end of this module, you should be able to

  1. Craft generative AI prompts that maximize the clarity, relevance, and usefulness of the AI responses you receive.
  2. Recognize the limitations of GenAI and why it is essential to verify AI-generated information for accuracy and reliability.

Learning Charter Pursuit

This module aligns with the learning pursuit of being able to locate, understand, evaluate and use information effectively, ethically, legally and with cultural appropriateness.
