A Book Review is a descriptive, evaluative account of a book. The University Library has access to many, many online and print sources of book reviews. Some will cover broad subject areas, while others will only cover specific topics.
The subject categories in this guide will help you choose an appropriate database or index in which to find your book review.
First Step
You will need the following bibliographic information about the book in question to help you locate reviews of it:
The author's name
The title of the book
The year the book was written OR
The date of the first edition of the book
The bibliographic information is found on the title page and the back (also called verso) of the title page.
If you don't have a copy of the book on hand when you start your search for a review, search our Catalogue. If the University Library owns the book, you can find all the necessary information in its catalogue record.
