First Year Research Experience (FYRE) Support Guide for Research Coaches

Any issues related to academic misconduct or suspected misconduct should be passed along to the course instructor.

Feel free to pass along any of these resources to FYRE students but please remind them that all questions regarding academic integrity and the use of AI tools should be passed along to the course instructor.

Bottom line: Talk to your instructor NOW about their expectations regarding student use of ChatGPT in the course.  Resources like this flowchart may be helpful as a conversation starter with the instructor to inquire if and when there are acceptable uses for AI in the research process (this is just an example).
