EndNote X7: Ovid Databases

EndNote is a reference manager software used to manage references, citations and bibliographies to assist in writing articles, studies and papers. This guide aims to provide assistance to using EndNote for students and scholars.

Exporting from Ovid Databases

  1. Conduct your search. Scroll down to the search results
  2. Use the checkboxes to the left of the article title to select the article(s) you want to export to EndNote.

  3. At the top of the list of results, find and click on the Export link. A pop-up box will appear.
  4. Select EndNote from the dropdown menu.
  5. You can customize the information you choose to export. We recommend you select Complete Reference.

  6. Click the Export Citation(s) button.
  7. You may be asked for your EndNote account information. Enter your email address and password if prompted.
  8. You should receive a confirmation that your reference has been added to EndNote. Be advised that new references are automatically added to the Unfiled folder.
