Veterinary Medicine: Citation Styles for Veterinary Medicine

Although there is no universally recognized citation style for veterinary medicine, the more commonly used ones are:

• AMA Manual of Style online. Published by the American Medical Association. Available online through the University Library.
• Citing Medicine; the NLM Style Guide for Authors, Editors, and Publishers. 2nd ed. Published by US National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health. Freely available online.
• ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors). Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals. 
• Journal of the American Veterinary Medicine Association. (see page 8, References). Freely available online.
