Research Guide for Library Faculty: Mentorship

Research Facilitator Supports

Feel free to get in touch with your research facilitator any time for support in developing a project or program of research. This page outlines resources for new researchers, particularly new tenure-track faculty, but conversations about research plans, trajectories, and goals can happen anytime.

Overview

The Research Mentorship Program at the University of Saskatchewan began in the summer of 2012. The purpose of the program is to support new tenure-track faculty to become more successful in reaching their research goals and potential via informative workshops, with trained research mentors and with a personalized research mentorship team that consists of local and global research experts in their research area of interest.

The mentorship program will

1. provide expert support in developing and implementing a 5-year research vision and plan,

2. provide networking opportunities and assistance in identifying potential collaborators within and external to the university, and

3. assist in identifying programs and other support services related to research.

Mentorship Teams in the University Library will be comprised of the new faculty member, the Director of the Centre for Evidenced Based Library and Information Practice (chair), the Research Facilitator (coordinator), one Library faculty member, and one faculty member external to the Library (either internal or external to the university).
