Before you begin, take a moment to reflect on how well you know yourself as a learner.

Often referred to as metacognition, understanding yourself as a learner involves being self-reflective and self-aware. It allows you to assess how well your learning strategies work and make adjustments when needed.

Consider what metacognition means to you.

  • How might being metacognitive improve your learning abilities?
  • How can reflection and self-control help you become more metacognitive?
  • How might metacognition make you better at solving problems and thinking critically?
