A free-to-use online version of EndNote exists, known as EndNote Online.
This tool is helpful for those looking for an alternative to other online-based reference managers, such as RefWorks, or existing users of EndNote who want to be able to access their resources from a computer that does not have a copy of EndNote installed.
EndNote Online (previously called EndNote Web or EndNote Basic) is a web-based research and writing tool and a complement to the desktop-based EndNote. Add, transfer or import your references to EndNote Online and access your account via any web browser.
EndNote Online is a free, but limited version of EndNote, and can be used independently of the desktop version. Create an online account to search, save, and use citations. You can also organize the references you find into folders and share folders with other EndNote Basic users.
The user logs into the service using a self-registered username and password. Formatted reference lists can be created in a variety of publishing styles. While you Write can be used in Microsoft Word to automatically integrate citations into a paper.
Access is restricted to current students, faculty, and staff of the University of Saskatchewan, and walk-in users, for educational, research, and non-commercial personal use. Access will continue as long as the Library licenses any product available on the Web of Knowledge interface.
