Research on how information is created and disseminated has shown that while bots or generative AI are adept at creating fake images and videos, they are not explicitly responsible for the spread of misinformation; humans are. As such, we all have it within our means to limit the spread of misinformation.
By becoming active and responsible consumers of information, we can contribute to healthier information ecosystems, combat the spread of misinformation, and promote a more informed and responsible digital society.
