Welcome and congratulations on your admission to graduate school at the University of Saskatchewan. You are about to embark on a challenging and exciting learning journey whether studying as a Certificate, Master's or PhD student. The Getting Started in Graduate School tutorial has been designed to guide you on your learning journey as you prepare to meet the challenges and expectations of your new graduate program.

The tutorial is meant to support all graduate students, including students who are entering their program directly from undergrad, students who are first in family to enter graduate school, students who are returning to studies after a personal or career break, mature students, and Canadian and international students.

By exploring this tutorial, you will be able to answer the following questions:

  • how prepared do I feel at the start of my new program?
  • what skills and habits can I develop to meet my academic goals?
  • how can I navigate the norms and expectations of graduate school?
  • what resources are available to support me?
  • how can I make the most of this opportunity?
