In this module, you will learn about some of the common characteristics of graduate programs in Canada. Doing so will help build your confidence as you prepare for your new program. Specifically, you will learn about the concept of double-culture shock and how how this might inform your adjustment. You will also learn about aspects of academic culture in English-speaking Canada that may be new to you, as well as broader communication norms. Finally, you will learn about self-advocacy in graduate school and the importance of using available academic and personal supports as needed.
